It’s the third week of January, 2021, and here in the U.S. we’re 10 months into the COVID-19 pandemic. Let’s take stock of where we’re at.
Globally, about one-fourth of all COVID-19 cases have been in the U.S. More than 24.5 million people have had COVID-19 here, and more than 408,000 people have died. Coronavirus counts are the highest they’ve been in the U.S. since the pandemic was declared in March 2020. The numbers of both pandemic cases and deaths due to the virus are surging almost everywhere in the country.
